Streamer bans are one of the hottest topics in the community. Every year numerous content creators are banned, either temporarily or indefinitely, and the last 12 months or so have been no different.
Over the course of 2022, several streamers found themselves on the chopping block. With the year entering its final week, this article will feature five content creators whose bans have had the community talking.

1) JiDion gets banned for inciting fans to spam
Popular American streamer Jidon”JiDion,” now of YouTube, was among the first major content creators to be booked by Twitch in 2022. He received a lifelong ban for violating the platform’s Terms of Service.
In January 2022, the streamer reportedly incited his fans to spam the phrase “L + Ratio” in Pokimane’s Twitch stream. However, the whole ordeal was scorned as JiDion took to his social media to apologise. Although he was initially given a 14-day ban, he was revised to a permanent ban shortly thereafter. Although Pokimane and JiDion have made peace after their conflict, Twitch has not reversed their decision.
2) Twitch streamer Kimmikka gets banned for live streaming sex
While there are many ways one could be banned on Twitch, being suspended for having sex while streaming is unconventional. On August 24, a streamer named gimmick she was seen having quite an intimate moment with her partner, who remains unknown. This resulted in her being temporarily banned.
Her story quickly hit the news as clips of her involvement in the deed were shared on social media. However, she returned to Twitch just a week after her ban. Following the controversy, she blamed alcohol for what transpired during the live stream.
3) Greekgodx gets banned for racist act
Controversial online personality and streamer Dimitri “Greekgodx” is no stranger receive bans. In July this year, a month after his first ban of 2022, he was suspended from the platform after an IRL stream showed him making racist gestures towards a group of individuals – reportedly Asians – as he passed them On Pavement.
Dimitri denied any accusations that he was racist, claiming he was just making “noises” taken out of context. The ban on him lasted for a couple of weeks. For those wondering, he streams regularly, albeit to dwindling audiences.
4) Destiny banned for unknown reasons
Twitch streamer and political commentator Steven “Destiny”, who now streams on YouTube, was shown the door by Twitch on March 23rd. At the time of his ban, he had over 650,000 followers on the purple platform. The exact reason Twitch’s decision, however, remains a mystery to the community.
During a YouTube stream, the streamer himself confessed that he was unaware of the reason behind his abrupt suspension, making it a hotly debated topic. It wasn’t the first time he got a ban from the purple platform. In 2020, the streamer lost his Twitch Partnership after he appeared to be “promoting violence.”
5) True Geordie banned for “Islamophobic” comments.
UK-based podcaster and YouTuber Brian “True Geordie” is the latest creator to join the list of bans that have rocked the community. This streamer was banned for a week in November after being found guilty of racism insensitive jokes about Muslims.
For the uninitiated, the remarks stemmed from a reaction video about Andrew Tate’s conversion to Islam. Speaking of the veracity of the latter’s conversion, Brian went on to say that Tate would have to “blow himself up” to prove his faith. Later that week, he made an apology video confessing to her comments about him. The streamer has now been unblocked on Twitch.
