Unless you are talking about ancient phones, like nokia era.. whereby they save it to the sim card memory directly.. and those are limited.

Anonymous, 5 hours agothey made the phones thinnerit’s the same phone.
whether e-sim or actual sim.
it wont get thinner.
there is a massive issue with esim. If your phone gets faulty and you send it off , the repair center can see all your messages/wa/snaps etc.. that you get unless you turn off the esim before they get it (most dont)

Whatever iPhone 14 has the esim only will flop☠️ like the iPhone 12&13 mini in sales. Apple needs to put usb c port on they Iphone 14 models and stop delay it.😎😤
I thought I will go for iPone 14 Pro Max. But if they launch esim only phone, I will rather go for android
[deleted post]Can’t really say that, it’s Samsung and Apple pushing this for different reasons than the carriers do.
And carriers are greedy mo********ers.

I thought this will be long time ago… eSim is here quite some time , thought todays phones would dbe sim slot free…
SpongeBob, 14 hours agoGood riddance to physical SIMs.Lol, dream on. Physical SIM is still relevant, especially when traveling abroad.

Others will follow this trend very soon. Really horrible. Only trend that I like is true wireless earbuds as they are cool and easy to use when you are walking. But for sound quality in ear monitors are miles better.
It’s another way to control people, governments and networks can prevent an individual having a mobile phone, where having a physical SIM card you can change providers if you wish.
There aren’t that many telcos that have eSIM support, so this is something to be taken with caution.
a very welcome move, that will prevent some iphones to be ”unlocked” by so called r-sim,turbo-sim and so on illegal solutions

I just see them talking crap and leaving stupid reviews.
My brother and uncle activated theirs easily (from a carrier THAT HAVE NO SUPPORT) believe it or not!
But the sad truth is, eSIM plans, at least here, are soooo much cheaper and make people really want to invest in a phone to be able to buy them. I still don’t see how eSIMs are better than a normal one.
You can switch your normal one to any phone anytime, get a new one if lost with ease, easy to activate and change plans. Not to mention, they are far more secure.

Considering phones gets replaced every couple of years, just swap your SIM to your new phone, no more hassle of calling your provider to reactivate your ESIM on your new phone that could take hours or days depending on how much of a douche the provider is.

What’s the chance of someone physically stealing your SIM compared to virtual one?
